The 149th Annual Yale-Harvard Regatta

With its panoramic views of the Thames River, Riverside Park has long been a favorite spot for viewing the traditional Yale-Harvard Regatta.

First contested in 1852, the Regatta is America's oldest collegiate athletic competition. The race has been rowed on the Thames River in New London, Connecticut, on all but 5 occasions since 1878. Originally the race was just between the varsity crews, but there are now 3 events on the day: the 2 mile freshman race, the 3 mile junior varsity and the 4 mile varsity race.

The 2014 Regatta is scheduled to be held on Saturday afternoon, June 7, with the races beginning at 2:45pm. Revive an old New London tradition, and come to Riverside Park to celebrate Regatta Day!
