On Saturday, June 30, the Friends of Riverside Park Conservancy hosted a park clean-up with the goals of:

(1) Clearing the invasive Japanese knotweed, which hides and shades the native sweetfern,mountain laurel, lowbush blueberries and other native plants that are plentiful in the park;

(2) Digging out the antique stone drainage trenches which have filled up with dirt, turf and weeds; and

(3) Weeding and mulching the flower gardens throughout the park.
