Diane can’t remember a time when she was not sketching. Her earliest memory of the power of color came at age 3, when she discovered the beauty of melting crayons on her family’s vintage steam radiator. She was encouraged to develop her budding talents by parents and uncles who were artists. A graduate of SCSU, where she earned a BA in fine arts, she took advantage of classes offered in glass blowing, typograghy and graphic design. She worked at an illustrator and graphic design artist at a division of Simon & Shuster for 16 years. Diane studied figure drawing and clay modeling with Michael Skop, watercolor painting with Lou Bonamarte, and figure drawing with Deane Keller. Her favorite media include watercolor, pastel, oils, and charcoal. Diane has been a member of the Lyme Art Association and the New London Arts League and has been commissioned for numerous paintings and portraits, including illustrating “Jeremy’s Story” for the Children’s Museum of SECT.
